Review by Jamison Wieser

Indian Summer Me And You is the twelfth studio album by the American country-rock band Poco, released in 1977. The album features a blend of country and rock music, with heartfelt lyrics and catchy melodies that showcase the band's musical talents.

The album opens with the upbeat and catchy "Indian Summer," which sets the tone for the rest of the album. The track features harmonica and slide guitar, which add to the country feel of the song. "Twenty Years" is a reflective ballad that showcases the band's ability to write heartfelt lyrics, while "Me and You" is an upbeat love song that features a catchy chorus and memorable guitar riffs.

The album also features a cover of the classic country hit "Starin' at the Sky," which Poco puts their own spin on with harmonies and guitar solos. "Downfall" is a standout track with its driving rhythm and soaring guitar solos.

My favorite version of this great song.. maybe as much to do with seeing Paul and Timothy B. singing/playing (and a few glimpses of a seriously concentrating Rusty) as anything else. THANKS for uploading.

Like Jim Messina said: they were "too rock for country, too country for rock" for the radio...but they were the soundtrack to my youth, and the music never gets old...

Terrible shame Paul Cotton was shut out of the band because Rusty wanted to be the leader. Paul deserved a better share of the band and equal status with Rusty. His ongoing request was rejected by Rusty, and that's why he disappeared. Shame.

This song is sublime.  It doesn't really matter what Poco are saying - the lead vocal, harmonies, beautiful steel guitar and connection between the entire band make it a rare and special performance.  Indian Summer is the one reason Poco are the most inspired country rock band ever. Listening to Indian Summer every time feels like a first on each occasion.

It was warm yesterday and the sun was out.... on November 19th. Brought to mind this song by Poco.. That's Timothy B. Schmidt on bass. Wonder whatever happened to Timothy B. Schimdt? Hope he found work in some other band - hate to think he's broke and scrapping by giving bass lessons to teenage boys - and eating Hungry Man soup he made on a hot plate at night in his one room basement apartment.
I love Poco so much. I was born in 1990 and this song makes me feel nostalgic for a time I never lived in. So good!
I have always loved Poco, thanks for sharing this treasure!

Not only was the band under rated, each of the individuals has never received the credit they deserve. Paul Cotton is a tremendous all-rounder. Ditto Schmidt and Young. And George Grantham was a wonderfully musical drummer. Great players putting out great tunes and with a great sound. Tunes like this and Rose of Cimmaron still melt me...
